About the Program

Remember The Wild’s Ambassador Program is a charitable initiative that supports individuals in our community who are doing an extraordinary job of promoting the values we hold dear. We seek ambassadors who inspire others to connect with nature and who work hard to conserve or promote the cause of native biodiversity.

We choose to support individuals who are passionate and positive and who are committed to inspiring others to be the same. By supporting such people and helping them achieve their goals, we aim to further our own mission and better connect people with the natural world.

Amelia Formby

Zoologist turned pilot, Amellia (Milly) Formby is planning to fly a microlight aircraft around Australia in March 2019 for shorebird conservation. In doing so, she aspires to start a global dialogue about how we can practise conservation in creative ways that strengthen our connections to the environment.

Her Wing Threads: Flight Around Oz project aims to:

  • Promote awareness of the interconnection between humans and natural ecosystems through storytelling;
  • Understand and explore the ways in which people relate to the environment; and
  • Inspire people towards sustainable actions that value local ecosystems.

We think that’s nothing short of extraordinary, so we’re helping Milly to engage with communities throughout Australia.

Remember The Wild will be supporting Milly’s mission by producing a documentary film of her journey, assisting with promotions and social media, and offering advice on project management and community engagement.

For the past two years, Remember The Wild has been supporting me with the production of promotional short films, project management, and posting on social media for Wing Threads: Flight Around Oz. The team are fiercely passionate about what they do and back it up with solid, quality work and professionalism. I take great comfort in the knowledge everything will be done to the highest standard to achieve the aims of my project.   – Amellia Formby
