Regarding the raven
Viktoria Schroedel-Rother
See its feathers, black, glossy, as though polished;
See its eyes, white, penetrating, an avian PET*;
See its beak, sharp, a dagger, from which you hear that wild Terra Australis cry;
See it fly, land cautiously, on balconies, bashful;
See it harried, by noisy miners, magpie-larks, unjustly;
See it immigrate into cities, seeking food, water;
See it delight me, observing its blackness.
